Cancer Survivor – Surviving the odds twice.

I am a cancer survivor. The first time I became a cancer survivor was in 2001. The second time I became a cancer survivor was in 2007. I became a cancer survivor after having a partial hysterectomy performed. Thanks to my doctors I could call myself a cancer survivor. The operation was successful beyond my wildest expectations.

The final pathology showed leiomyoarcoma, a rare cancer, seen in one to two percent of cancer patients. It can also be quite aggressive and reappears six to eight months after the cancerous area is removed. The gynecological oncologist and the radiation oncologist both recommended another operation to remove my cervix, and to peel part of the intestine wall up and surrounding it with fatty tissue for protection from radiation.

When I was presented with the prospect of another operation, I was thoroughly enraged; however, I turned my anger into a positive force. To continue to call myself a cancer survivor I evoked the healing power of prayer on many levels. I made an appointment with my nutritionist to test my immune system and to increase the amount of daily supplements I was taking. I asked an astrologer to determine the best day and time for an operation to insure that I would be one of the cancer survivor. Through the healing power of prayer I began visualizing going into my body and cleaning up everything that I saw -- again to insure that I would remain a cancer survivor. I also said an affirmation to release and bless all those with whom I had been angry or had caused me pain in the past and in the present.
